THE SWISS WAY OF MAKING
Fine Jewellery, Made by Hand
Switzerland has spent two hundred years learning to work small and work exactly. That habit of precision is the ground Lesunja stands on: every piece is designed in Zurich and handmade by goldsmiths we know by name.
We work in recycled 18k gold and platinum, with hand-selected stones. No anonymous production, no mass series.
What follows is how a Lesunja piece is actually made: four steps, all of them by hand.
STEP ONE · THE DRAWING
It Begins on Paper
Every piece starts as a pencil drawing at the bench — a line, a proportion, a stone that asks for a certain setting. Lisa draws each design by hand, often several times, until the silhouette works on a real hand and not only on paper.
From the drawing we build a model in wax or metal, try it on, change it, and only then commit it to gold.
STEP TWO · THE METAL
Melted, Rolled, Forged
Gold and platinum are melted, rolled and forged here at the bench, from recycled metal only. Files, gravers, a ring mandrel, a hammer whose handle has taken the shape of a hand: tools that have barely changed in a hundred years, and still do the work better than a machine.
Every filing of dust is collected and melted again. In this craft nothing is thrown away.
STEP THREE · THE SETTING
Every Stone Set by Hand
Tourmaline, aquamarine, sapphire, rough emerald, a grey Tahitian pearl: stones are chosen one by one, by hand and by eye, often directly from the cutters. We look for colour, life and a small irregularity — not a flawless certificate.
Each stone is then set under the loupe, claw by claw, so that it sits straight, sits safely and catches light from every side.
STEP FOUR · THE CONTROL
Nothing Leaves Without a Last Look
Polishing is the slowest part and the one that decides how a piece will age. Surfaces are hammered, brushed or mirror-polished by hand, then checked under the loupe against the drawing.
Each finished piece is worn for a day in the atelier and inspected once more before it is boxed. Should anything ever need care, it comes back to the same bench it was made on.

We exclusively use 100% recycled gold and platinum.

Hand-selected, conflict-free stones, often directly from the mines.

MADE TO BE INHERITED
A Piece That Outlives the Trend
Handmade jewellery carries the hand that made it. That is why a Lesunja piece is never quite repeatable — and why it can be worn, repaired, altered and passed on.
