Cast in a bone that burns away. Every piece in the Lesunja Sepia collection begins with the Ossa Sepia – the internal shell of the cuttlefish. Its hard outer skin and soft lamellae of lime make it a natural casting mould, and its surface carries a fingerprint-like texture that no two bones share. The moment the molten metal is poured, the shell burns. The texture survives in the metal, the mould does not. Every Sepia piece is therefore a single original, impossible to repeat.

A texture you can feel

Fine parallel lamellae run across each surface like the grain of driftwood or the ripples left by a tide. Polished edges and gently domed forms let the light travel along those lines, so the jewellery changes with every movement of the hand. It is an organic, quietly imperfect beauty – the opposite of machine-made precision.

What you will find here

Sepia letter necklaces in sterling silver, one for every initial, are the most personal way into the collection and a gift that needs no size. Alongside them are sepia-cast rings and wedding bands in yellow, white and rose gold, some set with brilliant-cut or champagne diamonds, sepia plate earrings and ear studs, anchor necklaces with freshwater pearls, cufflinks for men, and one-off pieces with aquamarine, topaz, prasiolite and coral. Prices begin at around CHF 300 for a silver letter and reach into fine-jewellery territory for the diamond-set gold pieces.

Made in Switzerland

Every Sepia piece is cast, filed, set and finished by hand in the Lesunja goldsmith’s workshop in Zurich, using recycled precious metals and responsibly sourced stones. Because each cast is unique, the piece you receive will differ slightly from the photograph – that is the signature of the technique, not a flaw.
