This spring Basel gains one more event. The first edition of the SPRING BASEL presents a varied programme of food, entertainment and culture for young and old and makes an inviting meeting point for the whole region. The festival encourages exchange among the public and promises light-hearted, entertaining moments with friends, family, old acquaintances and new ones. "We human beings love to come together, to exchange ideas and to be entertained. We are delighted to be able to offer Basel a new place of encounter with the SPRING ", says festival director Nadia Bachorski. "In the spirit of the MCH Group's long tradition, it matters a great deal to us to host a public event in Basel again alongside leading trade fairs such as Swissbau, HOLZ and Igeho. The first SPRING BASEL focuses on entertainment and culture. Over the coming years we plan to extend the format with further elements together with our stakeholders and partners", says Roman Imgrüth, CEO MCH Exhibitions & Events.

Culinary delights in a convivial atmosphere
Local, international, vegetarian or experimental - the culinary offering of the SPRING has something for every palate. Gourmets and wine aficionados will also find a selection of fine wines as well as a varied range of innovative thirst-quenchers and craft beer to discover and taste. A small but excellent marketplace invites visitors to browse a selection of accessories and everyday products.

An insight into Basel's urban culture and music scene
The festival celebrates the creative potential of the region and gives partners from the culture and music scene of Basel a platform. Audiences can experience acts from a range of genres, from folk and rock to hip-hop and electronica, on a live stage. This year bands and artists will perform from the event series "Mitten In der Woche", the music agency trust the process GmbH, the music festival BScene and the circle around Basel electro and house figures Thom Nagy and Nik Frankenberg. The festival programme also includes live demonstrations of urban art and free urban art workshops for visitors who would like to learn to handle spray can and pen with the Basel association Urbane Kunst. Carnival enthusiasts can indulge in memories and, while admiring a selection of this year's lanterns, try out this special lantern painting technique themselves. Basel presenter Katja Reichenstein hosts lively discussions with local personalities at the "Talk Bar" on social, cultural and local political topics. A variety of entertainment for children rounds off this multifaceted festival.
